Contact Form in Outlook 2007

In Outlook 2003, there was a field in the lower right called Contacts which you could use to link a contact to an item which would then show up on the Activities tab. In Outlook 2007, it is hidden by default.

To make it visible, go to Tools > Options > Contacts Options button and add a check to the option under Contact linking to show it on forms.

Appointment Reminder Times

Is it possible to change the calendar meeting time reminder so that it isn’t always fifteen minutes?

All appointments made in your calendar have the default reminder warning time of 15 minutes.  This means that 15 minutes before every item on your calendar comes due, a reminder notice will pop up on your screen.

When setting up the meeting you have the option to choose from a predetermined list of reminder times but what if you want to have a distant reminder, say one that reminds you to begin prep for the meeting weeks in advance.

You can easily set any other reminder period you want, not just what is listed in the dropdown. If you want to set the reminder to 11 minutes, type 11m in the reminder field. If you want 2 days, type in 2d in the field. 4 weeks, type in4w.
When changing the time period make sure you type in the right letter value:  m for minutes, d for days, and w for weeks.

123Together.com is First to Release all 40 New Windows SharePoint Services v3.0 Application Templates

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

BURLINGTON, Mass. - March 6, 2007 - 123Together.com, the leading provider of Hosted Microsoft Exchange, today announced that it is now offering a total of 40 Windows SharePoint Services v3.0 application templates.  Up until February 26th, only 20 templates were available by Microsoft. Adding these additional 20 templates increases usability of Sharepoint v3 for their customers. 123Together.com is the first Hosted Exchange messaging and collaboration provider to provide the full complement of application templates to their users.

Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services v3.0 is the premiere work force collaboration tool in the market today.  Windows SharePoint Services is used to increase the efficiency of business processes and improve team productivity providing tools for collaboration and data management.

Windows SharePoint application templates are out-of-the-box add-on solutions that address specific needs of different areas of the organization.  Application templates provide all the tools needed for the specific process but are still easily customized to more efficiently fit with the business workflow.  Some of the newest application templates offered by 123Together.com and Microsoft are:

Event Planning - The Event Planning application template helps teams organize events efficiently through the use of online registration, schedules, communication, and feedback. Role-based dashboards offer specific information for various event members such as speaker, guest, staff, vendor, delegate, and attendee home pages.

Sales Lead Pipeline - The Sales Lead Pipeline application template helps teams manage the sales pipeline by tracking leads, opportunities, contacts, and accounts. Through role-based dashboards, team members can track sales information, assign open opportunities and gain visibility into the status of overall leads entered into the application template.

Timecard Management - The Timecard Management application template helps teams track hours spent working on various projects. The site enables team members to ‘punch in’ on a particular project and ‘punch out’ when they cease work. The system automatically generates the time worked by project, and can show managers who is working on a particular project, total hours versus budgeted time and the details of who worked on a each project entered into the site.

Equity Research - The Equity Research application template helps teams collaborate on researching stocks and other equities. It provides a central location for teams to store documents, post links, track news, and hold discussions related to the equities tracked by the site.

“Our Hosted Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services is a very important and fast growing product offering for us,” said Ravi Agarwal, chief executive officer of 123Together.com.  “It’s very important to us that we provide the most up to date software add-ons and patches.  The newest application templates bring the total of templates available through 123Together.com to 40, which provides our customers with an application template for just about any situation and with development of more application templates currently ongoing, we will continue to provide these important tools to our customers.”

Recently, 123Together.com became the first to offer Hosted Windows SharePoint Services v3.0 and with today’s release, they continue to be the first company to offer these important services.
