You can use the following steps to set up a Microsoft Exchange email account on your Windows Phone 7. You can also use the steps in the following procedure to set up other email accounts that use Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync—including an Outlook Web App account.
- On Start, flick left to the App list and tap “Settings” .
Then tap Email & Accounts.
- Tap Add An Account > Outlook.
- Tap the Email Address box. Then type your email address for your Microsoft Exchange Server email account.
- Tap the Password box. Then type your Exchange password.
- Tap Sign In.
- If your account settings are found, please wait for your Microsoft Exchange Server email, calendar, and contacts to be synced to your phone. You are now finished setting up your account. You may move to the last step in the procedure.
- If the account settings cannot be found, continue to the next step.
- The Outlook screen will ask you to check your information. Please provide the following information and then tap Sign In:
Note: If your company signed up for Exchange 2010 after 3/29/2012 then you have the Enterprise version of Exchange 2010.

User Name: Company.User (This user name can be found in the control panel in the drop down menu for the user > "outlook setup" and username: Company.User.)
Password: your email password
SH10 Exchange 2010 Hosted

User Name: Company.User (This user name can be found in the control panel in the drop down menu for the user > "outlook setup" and username: Company.User.)
Password: your email password
- After you press “Sign In,” either the rest of your account settings will be detected using auto discover or you will be prompted to enter the Exchange Server
*Note: It will only detect the server on its own if your company has auto discover setup.
- If the account settings are found using the auto discover method, please wait for your Exchange Server email, calendar, and contacts to be synced to your phone. You are now finished setting up your account. You can now move to the last step in the procedure.
- If the account settings cannot be found, continue to the next step.
- If the correct settings cannot be found, tap Advanced. Please do the following and then tap Sign In:
- Verify that the information currently displayed is correct.
- Tap the Server box and enter the server address. For Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, please enter:

- Tap Show All Settings and then verify that the “Server requires encrypted (SSL) connection setting” is set to “yes”.
- Should the New Password Needed message appear after a few moments, tap Set, tap the New Password box and enter a password that is at least 4 digits. Tap the Confirm Password box and type the same password. Then tap “Done”.
This is the password you will enter on the lock screen to unlock your phone. Whether you need to enter a password for your phone depends on the security requirements that are set on the Exchange Server for your account.
